Edgar was born and raised in America, he was born in Boston and Died in Baltimore. He married his cousin for twelve years named Virginia Eliza Clemm Poe, she was his muse for the majority of his works before and after she died. Poe died a couple years after his beloved passed away from tuberculosis, a disease she suffered from for five years. Poe was known for his Gothic form of writing which is what pushed him to the fame that he currently has obtained. His works have transcended through time in classrooms and personal reading. Some of his works include The Raven (Link below takes you to this work), The Masque of the Red Death, Annabel Lee, The Oval Portrait, and The Cask of Amontillado. This is just a few of his amazing works that included poetry, tales, essays, a play, and a novel.
