Robert Lee Frost was born on March 26, 1874 and died January 29, 1963 to Journalist William Prescott Frost Jr and Isabelle Moodie. When his father died in 1885, he and his family moved to Massachusetts under the wing of his grandfather. Frost grew up in the city despite his infatuation with rural life. He published his first poem in his high school’s magazine.
Robert Frost is an American poet who is exceptionally well known all over the world. In 1894, Frost sold his first poem called “My Butterfly. An Elegy.” He then proposed to Elinor Miriam White who declined in hopes to finish college. Once she graduated he proposed again and she agreed, they married on December 19,1895. They had six children. Frost experienced a lot of pain through his life, the loss of his parents and sister as well as struggling with depression himself.
In Frost’s work he is known to be very honest, traditional, and serious. He had a knack for displaying vast human experiences throughout his poetry. His favorite themes are that of farm life or nature. Some of his most famous works are; “The Road not Taken,” “Nothing Gold Can Stay,” “Fire and Ice,” “A Question,” and “A Late Walk.”
